Perceptual organization. Objects have primitive features that allow us to group them into meaningful units. These features are color, motion, orientation, size, discriminate between textures. We should design to take advantage of preattentive processes. There what we call Pop Out Features. It is how we perceive unique and conspicuous primitive features.
